STEM Summer Camp Logistics
Many of you have been asking for more information on the logistics of camp so we decided to list some of the Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What are the dates of the camp?
A: Camp begins June 13th with sign-ins starting at 7:30am and ends on Friday August 12th at 6:00pm
Q: What are the times of the camp?
A: Monday-Friday 7:30am-6:00pm
Q: Will the camp be held at Los Angeles Mission College?
A: Yes. You will drop off at LAMC and campers will be there from 9:00am-11:00am earning and learning STEM. At 11:00 all STEM campers will walk over to El Cariso Park and join the other campers for the rest of the day
Q: Can my child where sandals and open toe shoes to camp?
A: No. It is required for all campers to where closed toe shoes, tennis shoes, gym shoes, etc.
Q: Will my child be swimming and if so, what should they bring?
A: Yes, your camper will be swimming daily so please make sure you pack their swimming clothes and a towel.
Q: Can my child just where their swimming trunks to camp or for the rest of the day after swimming?
A: No, campers are not allowed to where their swimming trunks throughout the day, only for swimming. After, they must change back into their regular clothes.
Q: Does my child need swimming shoes?
A: No, swimming shoes are not necessary but can be worn in the pool if needed.
Q: What if my child does not know how to swim?
A: Your camper will have the opportunity to pass a swim test. If they pass, they will be allowed in the big pool and if they do not pass they will be in the smaller pool (2ft deep).
Q: What will my child be doing from 7:30am-9:00am
A: They will be discovering different aspects of their every day environment by using a magnifying glass and exploring, documenting, and illustrating.
Q: Is my child required to wear their camp t-shirt every day?
A: Yes, it is mandatory for your child to wear their camp shirt daily. This helps us to be able to spot our campers throughout the day and especially on field trip days.
